Do you enjoy reviewing and proposing non-economic assumptions and parameters such as mortality, lapse, and disability rates? This includes new business management information (MI), planning, coordinating Finance Actuarial activities, and monitoring risk, internal control framework (ICF), and audit actions. Wat ga je doen?
As Lead Assumptions & Parameters, you will manage the process, timelines, and internal and external stakeholders for setting actuarial assumptions used for all reporting regimes (IFRS, Economic, Solvency II, and Tax).
Team Structure
The Lead reports directly to the Director of Finance Actuarial and manages a team of two specialists who have transitioned from Procurement Modelling & Change to Finance Actuarial. The Lead will play a leading and coordinating role within the team.
As Lead Finance Actuarial Assumptions & Parameters, your main responsibilities will include:
- Assumptions & Parameters Review: reviewing and determining non-economic assumptions and parameters, including mortality, morbidity, and lapse.
- Project Support: Supporting projects and developments, including driving and coordinating changes in management information for new business.
- Coordination: Coordinating Finance Actuarial activities, monitoring risk, ICF, and audit actions, and ensuring timely completion.
- Reporting Support: Assisting broader Finance Actuarial teams during reporting periods, including performing peer reviews.
- Technical Support: Providing support on specific technical questions and understanding movements in results when parameters are updated.

Required Qualifications
- Qualified actuary or comparable knowledge level
- Five years of relevant experience post-professional qualification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills to liaise with management and other stakeholders (Dutch & English)

You are eager to learn and develop, a team player with a proactive attitude, and able to lead and coach other team members. You combine strong analytical skills with a helicopter view, grasping the essence and communicating it in simple and clear language. You can think conceptually but act concretely. Additionally, you know how to manage timelines and stakeholders, communicating effectively with them. You are keen to engage in varied work, beyond just parameters, to keep the role interesting.
